Vladimir Nikolov will be an assistant coach for the U20 men's national team, volleyweek.bg learned first. The news was confirmed by the former captain of the national team. We remind you that the current assistant coach Ivan Tasev will leave his post to take over the preparation of "Beroe 2016" Stara Zagora, where the selector is the head coach of the U20 national team Miroslav Zhivkov. This is not a new role for Nikolov, who was head coach of "Levski Sofia" for two seasons, according to informed sources. Vladimir Nikolov will join the national team during the Balkan Championship and the European Championship, which are upcoming for this age group. "I will help Miro Zhivkov without receiving remuneration," clarified the former captain of the men's national team. He will join the team's staff after August 10. Simeon Nikolov, who spent the summer training with Gianlorenzo Blengini's men, will also be part of the team. "The first match with Slovenia at the European Championship will be one of the most important, as a possible victory will open our way to the finals in Serbia," explained Nikolov. According to him, five teams (Bulgaria, France, Poland, Italy and Slovenia) have a chance for medals at the upcoming European Championship.
