Rado Parapunov quits volleyball for one season

Bulgarian former international Radoslav Parapunov will take a one-year break from his volleyball career, learnedvolleyweek.bg. The 205-cm opposite hitter, known for his powerful left hand, will use this time to recover from shoulder and back injuries sustained after a tough season with Polish powerhouse Skra Bełchatów.

During this break, Parapunov will embark on a new venture with his wife, who is returning to Bulgaria. "The offer was simply too good to pass up," explains the volleyball player, without revealing details.

Despite the temporary separation from the court, Rado remains optimistic: "I am convinced that next year I will wear a volleyball uniform again. Most likely it will be CSKA's first, but I don't rule out a new transfer abroad."

And he finishes with a smile and determination:
"In short - I'm not stopping with my favorite sport. I still want to play!"

The 26-year-old opposite from Razlog arrived atSkra Bełchatówat the end of December 2024, after a brief stint with CSKA. The season began in GermanGiesen, and in Poland, he was brought in as a replacement for Kristian Walczak, who moved to the Korean V-League. Before that, the Bulgarian defended the colors of several foreign clubs - first he became champion of the US collegiate championship withHawaiiand was named MVP, then he continued with SerbianVojvodina(Novi Sad), IranianShahdab YazdandHelios Grizzlies(Giesen).

With the team ofSkra BełchatówParapunov played 5 official matches, in which he scored a total of 13 points. Despite the modest statistics, the club emphasized his professionalism and dedication to the team.
