Asseco Resovia Rzeszów continues to build an impressive squad for the 2025/2026 season, with the club this time announcing the return of one of its brightest former players – two-time Olympic champion Yacine Louati. A new beginning for a familiar face

Louati is already a familiar name to fans in Rzeszów – during the 2023/2024 season, he was a key figure in the squad, scoring an impressive 337 points in 34 league matches, including 51 aces and 34 blocks. His return is a strategic move by Asseco Resovia, which is actively strengthening its roster during the current transfer window.

“I'm glad he will play in Rzeszów's colors again. His versatility and charisma make him not only a great volleyball player but also a good spirit for the team,” commented Piotr Maciąg, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, to the club's media.

Transfer expansion and Olympic power

Asseco Resovia shows ambitions for the title, attracting not only Louati but also other big names from the European volleyball elite. Among them are setter Marcin Janusz and libero Erik Shoji – both with Olympic accolades and solid experience from ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle.

Star career and colorful resume

Born in France, Louati began his professional career at the Centre national de volley-ball, before moving through Belgium's Prefaxis Menen and clubs in Italy and Turkey. In the Polish league, he has already played for Jastrzębski Węgiel, with whom he won the championship in 2021.

Among Louati's individual and team achievements are:

  • two Olympic gold medals (Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024);

  • the French Supercup in 2017 with Chaumont;

  • French runner-up (2 times) and bronze medalist in the Turkish league (2 times);

  • medals from all categories in the Nations League with the French national team.

Key to future successes

Louati's return marks his second stop in the Polish top division and shows that Asseco Resovia Rzeszów is not just building a squad, but forming a core of players with leadership qualities and international experience. With his versatile skills, powerful serve, and defensive presence, Louati is expected to be a key driver in the new season and in the fight for the top in the PlusLiga and European tournaments.

Rzeszów is once again relying on the strength of a familiar star – and this time the stakes are even higher.
