Brothers Simeon and Aleksandar Nikolov expressed mixed feelings after the Bulgarian national volleyball team's participation in the Nations League. They are largely satisfied with the team's progress and development, even though they failed to qualify for the final eight. According to them, the team still lacks the necessary consistency characteristic of top teams - evident from the contrast between the win against Poland and the loss to Iran.
Simeon emphasized that the team has come a long way and made significant progress compared to previous years, albeit with a feeling of a missed opportunity. Aleksandar added that they are very close to the leading teams and are on the right track.
Both are aware that they need to work on performance stability. They showed humility regarding their personal roles, defining themselves as young players with potential, rather than stars. Their focus is now on the upcoming control matches against the USA and Japan, hoping for an even better performance before the World Championship.
The team will reassemble for preparation on July 31.
