Serie A1: New 20 – no playoff for bronze, the full calendar has been released

Due to international requirements, bronze medals will not be "contested" in the playoff phase

The format of the SuperLega is changing, reports the Italian volleyball dailyvolleyball.itIn addition to the asymmetrically scheduled first and second half-seasons (home and away matches between individual opponents) due to international calendar requirements, the Italian Volleyball League has eliminated the playoff matches for bronze medals, which over the years were the "arena" for the losing semifinalists. As is known, it was precisely the battles for third place that provided a Champions League quota.

According to the new regulations, the winner of the regular season directly earns a spot in the most prestigious club tournament, and along with them, both finalists of the Scudetto in the final playoff for the gold medals. If the leader after the regular season also reaches the title final, the last – third – team to qualify for the Champions League will be determined from the semifinal playoffs (it is logical to assume that this will be the highest-ranked team in the first phase of the championship, but this has not yet been announced by the League).

The regular season this year, in turn, will last 5 months – from October 19th to February 25th, 2026. There will be five mid-week rounds: Wednesday, October 29th, Wednesday, November 19th, Wednesday, December 3rd, Friday, December 26th, and January 14th, 2026.

The eight best teams after the end of the regular season will qualify for the Scudetto playoffs, as has been the case until now. The quarter-final battles, which consist of a maximum of 5 matches, will be between March 1st and March 22nd. The semi-finals – between March 29th and April 7th, and the finals – between April 26th and May 10th, with home advantage again being in favor of the higher-ranked teams during the regular season.

Meanwhile, the League of the Boot also unveiled its new logo. This change comes with the slogan "Created by another League"!
