USA served 8 aces against Argentina for a clean 3:0 victory

The US team started the Olympic tournament very strongly, not allowing the Argentines to even think they could put up a fight, beating them cleanly 3:0 (25:20, 25:19, 25:16). The Americans crushed their opponent with serves, scoring 8 aces, against 0 for the opponent. Torey DeFalco scored 4 points from serves, and Aaron Russell added three consecutive aces in the second set (11:10 14:10).

Setter Micah Christenson interacted brilliantly with his middle blockers, playing all sorts of combinations with Taylor Averill (6/6) and Maxwell Holt (4/7). Averill, who came onto the court with a striking red headband, spiked effectively after a back-of-the-head set. The opposites, with the exception of Matthew Anderson, were also good. As a result, the "Stars and Stripes" won the attack percentage with a large advantage (61% - 47%).
Russell missed the Tokyo Games due to a hip injury, but now gave his all for the win.
The Argentines played well in the first set, but had no serious arguments for victory. There was no leader in attack to score the difficult balls and lead the team. The team's head coach Marcelo Méndez tried to change the situation by making substitutions, but Luciano Vicentín, Jan Martínez, and Pablo Kukartsev could not contribute to a comeback.
Today the tournament continues with the matches:
