Bulgaria captain ahead of Nations League: "We are ready to show our best"

Captain of the Bulgarian national volleyball team, Alex Grozdanov, expressed confidence and optimism before the decisive matches of the third and final tournament in the Nations League in Poland. He made these statements to journalists at 'Vasil Levski' Airport in Sofia. Grozdanov admitted that he is eagerly awaiting the match against the hosts and especially the duel with Cuban star Leon, with whom he has been a teammate throughout the season. "It will be emotional for me, it was a good season there and there will be many positive emotions," he said, adding that he hopes this will not be their last match in the tournament and that the team will qualify for the finals.

Despite the fierce battle for a place among the best, the captain is adamant that the team's ambitions are realistic. "So far, we have shown that we can get two consecutive victories, I hope this time we will make it three," he commented. According to him, the team is well-prepared, although there are minor problems, which are found everywhere. The return of the young setter Moni Nikolov, who according to the captain is "amazing" and key to Bulgaria's game, despite being only 18 years old, brings joy.

Regarding the upcoming four tough matches, the captain shared that for him, the most important thing is for the team to leave each match satisfied with their performance, even in difficult moments. He hopes that Bulgarian fans in Poland, as well as Polish supporters, whom he has brought joy to during the season, will support them in matches outside of the game against the local national team.

Finally, the captain admitted that the success of the junior girls, who won the world title, further inspired him. "I was incredibly happy. This motivates me to give my all and show that us men can do it too," he concluded.
