Bulgaria is once again at the top of the world, and this time the triumph is even sweeter because it comes from our incredible girls! The national U19 women's volleyball team, led by Atanas Petrov, amazed everyone with a historic achievement –a world title, won in Osijek, Croatia. Our "lionesses" defeated last year's champion USA 3:1 and lifted the cup, a dream no Bulgarian women's team in any sport had dared to dream before.

Yes, this is Bulgaria's firstworld title, won by a women's team in history! Exactly one year ago, these brave girls became European champions, and today they are also No. 1 on the planet. How can we not be proud?

The grand return home

The Bulgarian Volleyball Federation organized a solemn official welcome for the heroines. The team lands in Bulgaria onMonday (July 14) at 3:35 PM with a flight from Belgrade, and immediately after that, they will head to the capital's hall"Hristo Botev", where they will meet everyone who wants to congratulate them.

The hall will be open to fans as early as4:00 PM, and our world champions are expected to arrive after4:15 PM. These girls have already deservedly been chosen as"Bulgarian Team of the Year for 2024", and now with this historic achievement, we can safely say that they have every chance to grab this award for thesecond consecutive year.
