A few days ago, the Italian publicationvolleyball.itpublished an article directly referencing an official document from the Tribunale Federale FIPAV. This document describes a disciplinary decision against an A1 Series coach, but the coach's name is deliberately redacted, in accordance with Italian personal data protection rules in disciplinary proceedings. The text states that the FIPAV court imposed a 6-month ban on all activities within Italian volleyball, as well as a fine of 600 euros for the club.

Thus, although the official document does not contain a name, speculations immediately began in sports circles that it was indeed Radostin Stoychev, especially given previous scandals and his recent resignation as coach of "Verona."

🇷🇺 A few days later, the Russian website Bo Sport provided specifics
Just days after the Italians' publication, the Russian website "Bo Sport" released an article already unequivocally claiming that it was indeed Radostin Stoychev. They stated that:
"The Tribunal of the Italian Volleyball Federation imposed a penalty on Radostin Stoychev due to the scandalous incident in January. The Bulgarian specialist has been suspended for six months from all activities in Italian volleyball, and 'Verona' has been fined 600 euros."
Thus, Bo Sport unhesitatingly linked Stoychev's name to this disciplinary case, despite there being no directly cited official FIPAV statement with a published name.

📖 We recall what happened in January 2025
It all started in early January 2025, when after the match between "Verona" and "Civitanova" (0:3) in Lube, Stoychev got into a verbal altercation with one of the home team's fans, located in the VIP zone. The dispute quickly escalated, and according to dozens of eyewitnesses, Stoychev grabbed the "Civitanova" fan by the neck with both hands before they were separated.

This scandal seriously worried Verona's main sponsor — Rana, who demanded a strong reaction and publicly stated that such behavior damages the image of both their brand and the club. Despite the tension, Stoychev remained in his post until March 2025, when he resigned just before the second 1/4-final playoff match. Meanwhile, he led Verona to a historic Italian Cup final.
◀️ Not Stoychev's first disciplinary penalty in Italy
This is far from the first time Radostin Stoychev has fallen under the scrutiny of Italian disciplinary bodies. In June 2023, he was sanctioned by the Tribunale Federale FIPAV with a 40-day ban from participating in any federal activities, after he stormed a live television broadcast and strongly protested against the refereeing after a "Verona" match against "Cisterna."
This penalty was served during a championship break and thus practically did not affect his work with the team. Nevertheless, the case demonstrated the Italian federation's tendency to react strictly to such incidents.
