Historical transfer for the Macerata club
Last in order, but not in importance – that's how we can describe Banca Macerata Fisiomed's latest move in the transfer market. The Italian club officially announced the signing of Bulgarian outside hitterDenis Karyagin, who will strengthen the squad for the 2025/26 season. The goal is clear: to raise the team's level and build around Karyagin as one of the new team's leading figures.
Champion in spirit and in trophies
Just one look at the resume of the athlete, born in Burgas in 2002, is enough to understand why this is a big coup for the Macerata club. Karyagin has a total ofeight titles, the last of which he won in Turkey with the team ofFenerbahçe. The most valuable trophy in his collection, however, is undoubtedly theChampions League title (CEV Champions League), won in 2023 with the strong Polish teamZaksa Kędzierzyn-Koźle, one of the leading clubs in Europe.
Experience at the highest levels of European volleyball
Karyagin is no stranger to the Italian public. In the 2021/22 season, he played forVero Volley Monza, with whom he won theCEV Cup. Since then, his career has followed an impressive international path: Burgas, Monza, Kędzierzyn-Koźle, Toulouse, Novosibirsk, and Istanbul. In every team, the Bulgarian has shown his class and built a reputation as an extremely mature and decisive player, despite his young age.
National player and recognized leader
Karyagin is also part of the Bulgarian national team, selected by coachChico Blengini. This summer he participated in theVolleyball Nations League (VNL)along with his compatriot and future teammate in MacerataRusi Zhelev. In the last match against the USA, Karyagin scored 3 points, despite the three-set loss against stars Anderson, Russell, and DeFalco.
Historic record for the club
Karyagin's transfer is of historical significance for Banca Macerata Fisiomed, as it is the first time the club has attracted a player who already has aChampions Leaguein his collection. This is not just a source of pride, but also proof of the ambition and quality of the project being built in Macerata.

The team's new acquisition shared his first words as a Banca Macerata player with the club's website:
