The Bulgarian national team for juniors up to 19 years old started its participation in the Balkan Championship with a dramatic 2:3 game loss to Montenegro. Miroslav Zhivkov's boys were close to a heroic comeback, but failed to hold their lead in the decisive tie-break.
In the "Borik" sports hall in Banja Luka, the Bulgarians started hesitantly and conceded the first two games with20:25 и 21:25. Instead of breaking down, our boys showed character and brought intrigue back into the match by winning the third and fourth games respectively with25:23 и 25:21.
In the tie-break, Bulgaria started strong and it seemed that they would complete the full comeback. Our team took the lead with13:9, but at the most inconvenient moment, they made a series of errors, which allowed Montenegro to get back into the game and take the tie-break with16:14.
