The beginning of the match was in favor of the hosts, who managed to impose their rhythm and won the first set 25:19. Modica, however, reacted and gradually changed the course of the match.
The visitors equalized after a 25:21 win in the second set, and in the third, they again showed greater effectiveness in the decisive rallies, snatching the set 25:23. Thus, Campobasso found themselves in a situation where they absolutely had to win the next set to keep their chances of success alive.
The hosts found the strength to respond. With a significant contribution from Andrea Guerini, Campobasso managed to regain the initiative and won the fourth set 25:22, sending the match into a tie-break.
The decisive set offered the greatest drama. Modica managed to equalize at 11:11, and in the final rallies, both teams fought a fierce battle for every point. Campobasso, however, demonstrated greater resilience at the end and, after a series of three consecutive points, reached victory with 17:15.

Besides Valchinov with 23 points, Lorenzo Suraci with 20 and Andrea Guerini with 19 made strong contributions for the hosts. Emanuele Fortes added 13, which shows the good distribution of offensive weight in the winners' squad.
For Modica, Jonathan Hoopt was the top scorer with 27 points, followed by Rocco Panciocco with 19 and Stefano Chilemi with 10.
After this success, Campobasso continues undefeated since the start of the championship, now having three wins from three matches.
For Kaloyan Valchinov, the performance against Modica is further proof of his important role in the Italian team. The Bulgarian has scored a total of 36 points in the last two rounds and is establishing himself as one of Campobasso's main attacking options.
The victory is particularly valuable from a psychological point of view, as the hosts managed to overcome a 1:2 set deficit and win a contested tie-break, maintaining their successful start to the season.
