Alex Grozdanov and Bogdanka LUK Lublin won the Polish Supercup for the second consecutive year. In front of 7100 spectators in Częstochowa, Stefan Antiga's team defeated the champion Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie with a score of 3:0 (34:32, 25:20, 25:18).
The Bulgarian international started as a starter in all three sets and finished with 4 points – two from attack and two from block. Grozdanov converted two of his five attack attempts.
The key to the trophy was the dramatic first set. Lublin withstood the pressure, saved several set points, and broke their opponent with 34:32 after 40 minutes of play. After the missed opportunities, Zawiercie could not find a response, and Bogdanka imposed their game in the next two parts.
The final two rallies brought the resolution: Miguel Tavares sent his serve out, giving Lublin the first match point, and Wilfredo León immediately ended the dispute with an ace.
León and Mateusz Malinowski were the top scorers for the winners with 16 points each. The Cuban with a Polish passport scored three aces and received the award for the fastest serve – 132 km/h. Ran Takahashi added 15 points, and Moussa Gueye – 10. Setter Marcin Komenda was chosen as the most valuable player.
For Zawiercie, Tomasz Fornal finished with 12 points, and Mateusz Bieniek and Bartłomiej Bołądź – with 10 each.
The defeat deepened the disappointment for the champions after the 0:3 loss to Katowice in the league and the criticism towards coach Michał Winiarski. Instead of a response with a trophy, Zawiercie suffered another clean loss.
Bogdanka won its first Supercup on November 5, 2025, when they defeated Jastrzębski Węgiel with a score of 3:1 (28:26, 25:27, 25:16, 27:25). Now Grozdanov and his teammates defended the title against the reigning champion.
