Macron awarded France's Olympic champions on the first International Volleyball Day

Today, July 7, as the world celebrates the first-ever International Volleyball Day, French President Emmanuel Macron awarded high state honors to the French national volleyball team, which defended its Olympic title at Paris 2024.

The French volleyball players are now double Olympic champions, having also triumphed at the Tokyo Games in 2021. Now, in front of their compatriots, they reaffirm their class and once again raise France to the top of world volleyball.

⭐ Orders of Merit and Legion of Honor

President Macron honored the team's stars with some of the most prestigious French distinctions.

  • Théo Faure and Earvin Ngapeth receivedthe Order of the Legion of Honor(Légion d'honneur) with the rank of knight, in recognition of their exceptional contribution and leadership on the court.

  • The other main players from the team becomeofficers of the National Order of Merit (Ordre national du Mérite), which was also presented personally by the head of state.

Awarded are:
Benjamin Toniutti, Kévin Tillie, Jean Patry, Nicolas Le Goff, Jenia Grebennikov, Barthélémy Chinenyeze, and Antoine Brizard, alongside Ngapeth and Faure.
