For the first time in years, the national delegation will have specially designed official attire, and the Italian company Erreà will provide the sports equipment.
Bulgarian athletes will appear with a new look at the Youth Olympic Games in Dakar in 2026. The Bulgarian Olympic Committee (BOC) officially presented the delegation's official attire and sports equipment, with changes in both sets compared to previous practice.
For the first time in years, Bulgarian Olympians will parade in specially designed suits. They are white, consist of two parts, and bear an embroidered BOC emblem. The production has been entrusted to the Bulgarian company "Kamtex," which won the public procurement.
There is also a novelty in sports uniforms. The Bulgarian delegation will for the first time use products from the Italian brand Erreà, founded in 1988. For participation in Dakar, the company has developed a special design that includes the colors of the Bulgarian tricolor and national motifs.
The presentation took place with the participation of two young Olympians - Wushu athlete Kalina Slavcheva and badminton player Teodor Mitev. Both demonstrated the new outfits and were pleased with them.
"The outfits look great, and we are happy to be part of the Bulgarian Olympic team," said Slavcheva.
BOC President Vesela Lecheva drew attention not only to the appearance but also to the practical requirements for the clothing. According to her, both the sports uniforms and the official suits are adapted to the high temperatures awaiting participants in Senegal.
"I hope that our athletes will feel confident in the clothes they have, because in a competition of such a scale, every detail is important," commented Lecheva.
No preliminary medal predictions
The BOC does not commit to expectations for specific rankings in Dakar. The reason is the different mechanism for determining participants in the Youth Olympic Games. The selection is carried out by international sports federations in cooperation with the International Olympic Committee, without national Olympic committees having a decisive role.
Lecheva emphasized that the priority is for young Bulgarian athletes to receive the best possible conditions for preparation and to realize their potential during the competitions.

Vesela Lecheva confirmed her candidacy for president of world shooting
The presentation of the Olympic equipment was followed by news related to international sports governance. Vesela Lecheva confirmed that she will participate in the elections for president of the International Shooting Sport Federation.
The vote is scheduled for December 13 and 14 in Rome. Four candidates will compete for the post, including current president Luciano Rossi, head of the European Shooting Confederation Alexander Ratner, and Ukrainian Konstantin Pirovarov.
Lecheva, who has two Olympic medals, five world, and eight European titles as an athlete, believes that her accumulated experience in sports and management gives her reason to claim the highest post in world shooting.
"I believe I have something to give to world shooting if I am elected, and this will also be a very high evaluation for Bulgarian sports as a whole," she stated.
The Bulgarian candidate expects a tough competition but expressed hope that the elections will proceed in compliance with the principles of fair play.
