Bulgarian international Georgi Tatarov scored 1 point in Allianz Milano's heavy 0:3 (27:29, 14:25, 15:25) defeat as a guest of Cisterna in the first round of the Italian SuperLega.
The receiver came on as a substitute in the second and third sets, with his only point coming from an attack. Tatarov did not record an ace or a successful block.
The guests offered serious resistance only in the opening set, which they lost after overtime with 27:29. In the next two sets, Cisterna dominated and achieved a convincing victory.
The most effective player for Milano was the Belgian opposite Basil Dermaux with 16 points, including 4 blocks and 1 ace. Japanese receiver Tatsunori Otsuka added 14 points, and Seppe Rotty finished with 7.
For the winners, Giulio Magalini and the Japanese Shikun Peng scored 14 and 12 points respectively. Peng impressed with 8 successful blocks, which proved to be one of the key factors for the categorical victory.
In the second round, Milano will host Cuneo on October 25, and Cisterna will visit Trento.
