Bulgarian opposite Mikaela Stoyanova finished with 4 points in CBF Balducci (Macerata)'s 0:3 (17:25, 13:25, 14:25) away loss to Omag Consolini in a match from the third round of the Italian Women's Serie A1.
After her strong performance against world club champion Scandicci, when she scored 25 points, this time Stoyanova started the match on the bench. Head coach Valerio Lionetti preferred Giorgia Decortes at the opposite position, but the development of the match forced him to look for other options.
The Bulgarian appeared briefly in the first set, and in the second, she again came in as a substitute. In the third set, Stoyanova remained on the court as a starter and scored all her 4 points, but her efforts were not enough to change the course of the match.
Macerata started the third set better and took an 8:7 lead, with Stoyanova successfully participating in the attack. The Bulgarian scored two more times, but the hosts gradually established control and closed the match after only 65 minutes of play.
Omag Consolini demonstrated significant superiority in attack, finishing with 60% efficiency against 36% for the visitors. The top scorer was Adia Deluisi with 14 points, while for Macerata, Mariana Mazzon recorded 8.
For the hosts, this was their first victory of the new season, while Stoyanova's team continues to seek its first success in the championship.
