Aleksandar Nikolov was chosen as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) in Lube (Civitanova)'s 3:0 (25:20, 25:19, 28:26) away victory against Verona in the first round of the Italian SuperLega.
The Bulgarian international finished as the top scorer in the match with 19 points, including 13 in attack with 50% efficiency, 5 aces, and 1 block.
His performance from the service line was particularly impressive, where he scored more than half of Lube's nine aces.
Nikolov also played a crucial role at the end of the third set. At 26:26, he scored with a successful attack, and then ended the match directly from a serve for 28:26.
Thus, the Bulgarian outside hitter started the 2026/27 season with an individual award and a key contribution to Lube's first three points in the championship.
