The war in Ukraine directly affected one of the partners of the elite Polish volleyball team Projekt (Warsaw). Russian strikes caused heavy damage to a warehouse of the Ukrainian retail chain "Epicenter" in Khmelnytskyi, SportInteria reports. The club issued a message of support and assurance that its financial stability is guaranteed.
According to the company, on October 13, the facility was attacked ten times within a single day. Five fires broke out, and the fire destroyed about 85% of the stored goods. All employees survived.
"Epicenter" describes the incident as a blow of unimaginable scale. The chain states that it has already lost two large logistics complexes, and the latest attack has consequences far beyond the value of the destroyed products — disrupted deliveries, huge financial damages, and the erased labor of thousands of people.
In response, Projekt expressed sympathy to the management and employees of its partner. The club emphasized that they consider "Epicenter" as part of their volleyball family and will keep the company's logo on their competitive kits.
The topic also has a particularly close dimension for the locker room of the Warsaw team. The team includes middle blocker Yurii Semeniuk — a national player for Ukraine, whose homeland continues to suffer the consequences of the war.
Along with the message of solidarity, the management sent a clear assurance to its fans and business partners. The Polish company "Plast-Box", owner of Projekt, guarantees the financial stability, organizational security, and continuous operation of the club.
"The club's situation is completely secure and nothing threatens it," Projekt stated.
