Matey Kaziyski remains captain of Halkbank for the new season

Matey Kaziyski will continue to be the captain of the Turkish Halkbank during the 2026/2027 season. This became clear during a meeting of the volleyball players and coaching staff with the club's president, Recep Süleyman Özdil, held at the bank's headquarters in Ankara.
Özdil emphasized the importance of the Bulgarian volleyball star's experience for the team, which enters the new season with ambitions for a strong performance in both the Turkish championship and on the European stage.
The team led by Radostin Stoychev made serious selections during the summer. Among the six new additions is Bulgarian national Denislav Bardarov, and the others are Murat Yenipazar, Darlan Souza, Sam Deroo, Halit Kurtuluş, and Alejandro Rodriguez Fuentes.
"We want to see a team on the court with high fighting spirit, which realizes the responsibility of wearing the Halkbank emblem and fights to the end in all tournaments," said Özdil.
The president also announced that the club plans to build a modern sports complex that will serve both the representative team and the young volleyball players.
