FIVB changes international transfer fees to avoid double payment by clubs

The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) has approved proposals for changes in fees for international player transfers. The main goal is to avoid double taxation of clubs and to revise financial obligations when volleyball players move between different national championships.
The decision was made at a meeting of the FIVB Board of Administration, where a number of issues related to the organization and management of world volleyball were discussed.
An update of the table with maximum compensation fees that federations of origin can receive for international transfers is planned. The new values must be aligned with the changed fee structure.
For now, FIVB has not announced specific amounts, nor has it specified which payments will be affected. It has also not been indicated when the new regulations will come into force.
For Bulgarian clubs, the topic is particularly relevant given the attraction of foreign players and the transfer of Bulgarian volleyball players to championships abroad. Whether the changes will lead to a real reduction in costs for international transfers will become clear after the publication of the new financial terms.
Changes in regulations are also forthcoming.
At the same meeting, the Board of Administration approved the final draft for amendments to the FIVB Constitution. The document will be sent to national federations on October 19, and its final adoption is pending at the World Congress in November.
Proposals for changes to the rules of volleyball have also been approved and will be presented at the congress. The International Federation does not disclose details of their content.
The composition of the Ethics Commission and the appointment of external auditors were also discussed, with both proposals subject to final approval by the congress.
The next meeting of the Board of Administration will be held on November 18, immediately before the 40th FIVB World Congress in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
