Immediately after winning the tournament in Pernik, Montana participated in another pre-season competition - for the Radu Zamfirescu Cup in the Romanian city of Craiova.
In their first match, Daniel Peev's trainees lost to the hosts from SCM Universitatea (Craiova) with 0:3 (17:25, 19:25, 19:25).
Nikolay Ivanov was the top scorer for Montana with 12 points, followed by Bruno Rubbo with 6 and Joao Vitor with 5. Timofey Benkovich finished with 4, while Aleksandar Mitkov and Kostadin Kozelov added 3 each. Nikolay Zahariev and setter Viktor Zekov recorded 2 points each.
For the winners, Gregory Gempin scored 14 points, and Strahinja Brzakovic added 12.
Statistics show that Montana scored 32 points from attack with 32% success rate against 34 points and 37% for Craiova. The difference in blocks is significantly greater - 11:4 for the Romanian team, which also has an advantage in serves with 4 aces against 1. The hosts finished with 64% positive reception against 51% for the Bulgarian team.
Today, October 9, Montana will meet Rapid (Bucharest) at 4:00 PM, and on Saturday, October 10, they will conclude their participation against Zalau at 12:00 PM. Both times are Bulgarian time.
