The President of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation, Lyubomir Ganev, celebrates his 61st birthday. The legendary Bulgarian volleyball player was born on October 6, 1965, in Ruse.
Ganev left a significant mark with CSKA, and subsequently became one of the stars of Italian volleyball. In Italy, he played for Alpitour, Agrigento, Spoleto, and Fano, where his powerful serve and spectacular attacks earned him the nickname Lupo - The Wolf. With Aris (Thessaloniki), he won the first and only championship title in the club's history.
With the Bulgarian national team, he is a bronze medalist from the 1986 World Championship and participated in the Olympic Games in Seoul 1988 and Atlanta 1996.
