Two Bulgarian internationals participated in the international pre-season tournament Coupe Fred Fellay in Geneva. Venislav Antov was with French Tourcoing, and Preslav Petkov was with German Duren. The competition also included Italian Cuneo and host Chenois Geneva. The matches were played in a best-of-three-sets format, with the four teams first playing each other in a round-robin, and the top two in the standings advancing to the final.
In the very first phase, Antov and Petkov stood on opposite sides of the net. Duren won against Tourcoing with a score of 2:1 (25:23, 22:25, 25:18).
Antov performed strongly against Cuneo as well, despite the French team's 1:2 (25:18, 24:26, 22:25) defeat. The Bulgarian opposite hitter scored 10 points and was among Tourcoing's top scorers.
Duren reached the trophy dispute, where they lost to Cuneo with a score of 0:2 (19:25, 23:25). Petkov was among the players used by the German team but did not score any points, and the Italians won the Coupe Fred Fellay.
