Two of the biggest names in Bulgarian volleyball – Lyubomir Ganev and Teodor Salparov, have found a place in the new commissions of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee.
The Executive Bureau of the BOC elected the new compositions of its auxiliary bodies during its regular meeting in Sofia.
The President of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation, Lyubomir Ganev, joins the Olympic Preparation Commission. Also in it are Prof. Svilen Neikov, who is chairman for summer sports, Georgi Bobev – chairman for winter sports, Iliana Raeva, Krasimir Ininski, Georgi Pavlov, Georgi Avramchev, and the Secretary General of the BOC, Danail Dimov.
Former national player and long-time libero of Bulgaria, Teodor Salparov, has been elected as a member of the Athletes' Commission. Its chairman is snowboarder Radoslav Yankov, and the members also include Boryana Kalein, Yoana Ilieva, Ivelina Ilieva, Carlos Nasar, and Semen Novikov.
At the meeting, the Executive Bureau also approved the Bulgarian delegation for the Youth Olympic Games in Dakar 2026. Bulgaria will be represented by 17 athletes in 13 sports.
The BOC also decided to establish the "Bulgarian Olympic Foundation", with Dr. Volodya Zlatev elected as chairman of the board of trustees.
At the end of the meeting, a report from the Control Council was also presented after an audit of the BOC's activities. 1400 documents with a total volume of 10,000 pages for the period 2022–2026 were audited, and according to the announcement, a number of irregularities were found.
