Krakow will once again host the final tournament for the Polish Men's Volleyball Cup. The four teams that will remain in contention for the trophy will gather at TAURON Arena on January 23 and 24, 2027.
The competition will be particularly interesting from a Bulgarian perspective as well. BOGDANKA LUK Lublin, where our national team captain Alex Grozdanov plays, is the current Cup holder and will begin its participation in the tournament with the ambition to defend the trophy. Grozdanov arrived in Lublin yesterday and is starting preparations with the team.
Last season, the team from Lublin won the Polish Cup for the first time in its history. The triumph came precisely in Krakow in front of nearly 13,000 spectators.
There is also a Bulgarian presence in the competition at Ślepsk Malow Suwałki, whose team includes national player Asparuh Asparuhov. Whether Grozdanov and Asparuhov will reach the final weekend in Krakow, however, will only become clear after the quarterfinals, which are scheduled for the end of 2026.
For Krakow, this will be the sixth time hosting the final tournament and the fifth in a row. Since 2023, the decisive Cup matches have invariably been held in the largest arena in Poland.
Interest in the tournament in recent years has been enormous. In 2025, an absolute attendance record for Polish club volleyball was set at TAURON Arena – over 14,000 spectators were in the stands. At the last edition, won by BOGDANKA LUK Lublin, the audience was again close to 13,000 people.
"We want the final tournament to be held in the largest arena in Poland and in front of thousands of great fans. Thanks to the very good cooperation with the authorities in Krakow, we can once again invite fans to this city," said Artur Popko, president of the Polish Volleyball League.
He also emphasized the importance of the Cup for PlusLiga clubs, as it is one of only three national trophies that can be won within the season.
The organizers announced the dates more than three months in advance, and ticket sales for the final tournament have already begun. The four participants in Krakow will be known after the quarterfinals are played at the end of the year.
