Blengini admitted that for some time he had been looking for an opportunity to step out of his familiar environment and face a different professional challenge. This is one of the reasons he accepted Vero Volley's offer and, for the first time in his career, will coach a women's team.
"I wanted to put myself out of my comfort zone, to try something different and to understand how I need to adapt and build my relationships. I am curious to see not only them, but above all myself in this situation. And this doesn't just interest me – it truly excites me," Blengini explained.
The Italian emphasized that he does not intend to approach his new team through stereotypes about the differences between men's and women's volleyball. According to him, the individual characters of the players are much more important.
"I believe much more in people than in categories. Both among men and women, there are difficult and easy characters, insecure and overly confident people. I believe in the person more than in their role or gender. We will discover all this day by day," added the coach of Bulgaria.
