Gianlorenzo Blengini has officially started his new club challenge. The head coach of Bulgaria was presented as the head coach of Numia Vero Volley Milano for the 2026/27 season.
The presentation of the Vero Volley women's team took place today in Milan, and Blengini posed for the official team photo with the players and staff in front of the club's and its partners' banner.
Just one day earlier, on Tuesday, September 22, the Italian specialist arrived in Milan, where he was greeted with a Vero Volley scarf at the airport. Thus, practically immediately after completing his commitments with Bulgaria at EuroVolley 2026, he joined his new club.
After the official part, Blengini and the Milan volleyball players also appeared in front of one of the city's symbols - the Duomo, where they took a group photo.

Blengini's appointment was announced back in August, but he was to join the team after the end of the European Championship. Until then, Milan's preparation was led by his assistants.
For the 54-year-old Italian, something completely new is also beginning in his coaching career - for the first time, he will lead a women's club team. Blengini will combine his work at Vero Volley Milano with his position as head coach of Bulgaria, with whom he has a contract until 2028.
Just a few days after the end of EuroVolley in Sofia, Blengini has already swapped his national kit for his club kit and is beginning preparations for his first season in the Italian women's Serie A1.
