The U19 national team is leaving for France for three friendly matches with Brazil without two key players.

Bulgaria's U19 men's national team will play three friendly matches against the strong Brazilian team in France. The South Americans are using the country as a base for their preparation, and the matches were agreed upon thanks to the excellent relations between the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation (BVF) and the Brazilian headquarters.

These checks will allow our young volleyball players to test their skills against one of the leading teams in the world and to show their current level before the important tournaments in July and August.

At the same time, two of the most experienced players in this formation – Konstantin Manolev and Petyo Ivanov – remain in Bulgaria. They are proven leaders and an integral part of the squad, but currently Manolev is recovering from an injury and is working on a reduced regimen.
Together with Petyo Ivanov, they will continue their preparation under the guidance of coach Dragan Ivanov, following a specially designed program aimed at optimally preparing them for the decisive matches in the coming weeks.

“I hope that in the upcoming official competitions, Konstantin and Petyo will be in their best form. These are players with a great contribution to our team and extremely important for our future performance,” said coach Miroslav Zhivkov.

Final tests before the Balkan Championship and the World Championship in Uzbekistan

After the friendlies with Brazil, the national team will participate in the Balkan Championship in Banja Luka (Bosnia and Herzegovina) between July 9 and 13 – the last test before the World Championship in Uzbekistan (July 24 – August 3).
