The Brazilian men's national team achieved a second consecutive victory in Chicago in an extremely convincing manner, crushing China 3-0 (June 26) in their second match of the second week of the Volleyball Nations League (VNL).
After "Seleção" subjugated Canada with the same result a day earlier, Bernardinho's boys demonstrated an impressive collective performance against the Asian team as well. Setter Cachopa orchestrated the attacks with high efficiency, not hesitating to look for the middle blockers not only in rotation but also on counter-attacks.
Middle blocker Judson finished with 10 points from 13 attacks – a remarkable 76% efficiency. Alan and Honorato were flawless: both scored 12 points from attack, with 63% and 60% success rates, respectively. Alan also added 4 blocks, making him the best in this category once again, as in the match against Canada.
The reserves also shined – Artur Bento came in to close the second set, and Adriano put an end to the match with a serve at the end of the third set.
Brazil's next challenge is against the strong Italian team – on Saturday, and on Sunday they will face Poland. Both matches start at 01:00 AM Bulgarian time (18:00 local time).
With 4 wins from 5 matches, the Brazilians climbed to second place in the VNL temporary standings, one point behind leader Poland.
