Slovenia beat Turkey in Burgas

The second weekend of the Volleyball Nations League in Burgas continued with a clear victory for Slovenia over Turkey with 3:0 (25:16, 25:22, 25:18) in the second match of the day at "Arena Burgas". Despite energetic support from the stands, the Turkish team could not counter the well-organized and disciplined play of their opponent.

" Decisive difference – opponent's errors
Slovenia took full advantage of 25 points that came from Turkish errors – an effortless set. At the same time, Fabio Soli's team maintained a relatively stable own game, committing only 16 unforced errors.

" Attack, serve and block
Slovenia surpassed Turkey in most elements:

  • Attack: 40 successful attacks versus 32

  • Serve: 5 aces versus 2

  • Block: 5 to 6 in favor of Turkey, but without much impact on the result

Tonček Štern was the top scorer with 14 points, followed by Bračko with 12. For Turkey, Mandıracı finished with 12, and Dilmenler – with 8.

" Turkey also lags in secondary elements
It is also interesting that Turkey led indigs in defense(59 vs. 53),reception(60 vs. 44) andset distribution(92 vs. 82), but without this leading to a result. The reason - ineffective realization after good organization.

Bulgaria will play with Slovenia on June 27.
