The Cuban national volleyball team currently has only 6 players in Belgrade registered to participate in the second tournament of the Nations League. These are: Fiel, Masso, Gutierrez, Camino, Biset, and Gomez. Thus, the team from the Island of Freedom intends to avoid a technical defeat. The remaining eight athletes, including key figures such as Miguel Angel Lopez and Martin Yant, were blocked at the airport due to visa and travel issues.
These eight players are currently in Madrid, waiting for their next flight to Amsterdam, and then they have a final flight to Belgrade. They are expected to arrive at their hotel around 2 AM, leaving them only a few hours to rest before tomorrow's match against Germany, which starts at 1 PM Bulgarian time.
Despite the difficulties and incomplete squad, Cuba does not intend to withdraw from the match and will fight for important points in the tournament. The decision on participation will be made late tonight, and it is expected to be announced whether the eight players will be able to join the team in time.
