The Organising Committee for the Los Angeles 2028 Games unveiled a new version of its official logo, the 40th since its creation in 2020. It is entirely dedicated to the Paris 2024 Games. This new version announces the moment when the French capital will hand over the Olympic flag to the Californians. This will happen on Sunday, August 11, at the Stade de France, during the closing ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games. The logo features both flags, French and American, to form the letter A of LA 28. Explanation from LA 2028 Marketing Director, Amy Gleason: "This latest custom LA28 emblem celebrates the moment LA takes the reins from Paris."
