Unconditionally! Bulgarian girls up to 16 years old with the title at the Balkan Championship

The Bulgarian national team for girls U16 achieved an impressive success at the Balkan Championship, which took place in the Montenegrin city of Pljevlja. The team, led by coach Evelina Tsvetanova, did not suffer a single loss and won the gold medals after a dominant performance - 4 wins from 4 matches and 11 points in the final standings.

In the decisive final match, our girls crushed North Macedonia with 3:0 (25:16, 25:13, 25:16) and unequivocally cemented their first place. With the same result, we achieved a convincing victory in the tournament against the hosts from Montenegro - 3:0 (25:20, 26:24, 25:23), demonstrating excellent play and character.

Before that, the young "lionesses" also prevailed over the strong teams of Greece and Turkey, which made them favorites even before the final matches.

In the gold medal match, Antonia Stanislavova achieved 2 blocks, 2 aces, and 71% attack efficiency, as did Adriana Aleksieva, who came in as a substitute and added 3 aces and 75% efficiency. Both finished with 9 points each - modest in number, but crucial for the victory.

The team of North Macedonia was unable to put up a fight - their best player Andrea Mitic finished with just 3 points.

The Balkan title is an excellent dress rehearsal for the upcoming European Championship, which will take place between July 2 and 13 in Albania and Kosovo. Expectations for the team are high, especially after the U19 girls also brought home gold from the Balkan Championship in Albania earlier this summer.

Bravo, lionesses! We are proud of you!🇧🇬🏐🥇
