A large number of stars who conquered the Olympic peak in their native Paris last year, as well as in Tokyo in 2021, may arrive on the Bulgarian coast.
After resting during the first competitive week in Canada, Antoine Brizard, Barthélémy Chinenyeze, Yacine Louati, and Jean Patry joined their teammates in Tours to prepare for the rest of the Volleyball Nations League, according to the French Volleyball Federation's website.ffvb.org.
This is an excellent reinforcement for the French men's team. After the first stage of the Volleyball Nations League in Quebec, "Les Bleus" returned to Tours to prepare for the rest of the competition. On the way, they reunited with Antoine Brizard, Barthélémy Chinenyeze, Yacine Louati, and Jean Patry.
After winning their latest Olympic title last summer, Andrea Giani and his staff decided to rest some key players, especially with an eye on the World Championship in the Philippines at the end of summer (September 12–28). Thus, only two gold medalists from Paris – Trevor Clévenot and Théo Faure – traveled to Canada for the start of the VNL. This allowed – and this is important for the future – to give a chance for several promising players to gain experience (eight players debuted in the League week in Canada).
While awaiting the return of other Olympic champions, Antoine Brizard, Barthélémy Chinenyeze, Yacine Louati, and Jean Patry joined their teammates in Tours this week for preparations for the upcoming summer competitions. "Les Bleus" will soon head to Burgas, Bulgaria, to face Ukraine, Japan, Slovenia, and Turkey (June 25–29) in the second week of the VNL.
