The Bulgarian national volleyball team is preparing with exceptional dedication for the home tournament of the Nations League, which will take place from June 25 to 29 in "Arena Burgas". Outside hitter Asparuh Asparuhov shared his expectations before the crucial matches with the BFV Facebook page and emphasized the team's ambition to perform at the highest level.
"The path is very difficult, we train very hard. We are preparing at the highest possible level, everyone is giving their all to the limit," said the 25-year-old national.
According to him, Bulgarian fans feel new energy in the team, which creates high expectations. Asparuhov, however, is adamant that the players themselves must be the first to set high goals.
"The spark is felt in the team. We already have players at a very high level. We push every day in the gym to win more and more matches. I believe that we should be the first to set high expectations for ourselves."
Bulgaria will face Japan, Slovenia, Turkey, and Ukraine, and the interest in the matches in Burgas is huge.
"Playing in front of a full hall with Bulgarian fans is a feeling that is hard to describe. The adrenaline is very high and constantly keeps you at the peak of your abilities."
Asparuhov expressed confidence that the team is ready to fight for the best possible ranking in the tournament.
"Before the start of the League, I said that we are ready to achieve the best ranking – because I truly believe it. I hope God gives us health and we achieve the results we ourselves desire."
In conclusion, he made an appeal to the Bulgarian public:
"I hope many people will come. We will give our hearts to put on a great show. God willing, we will win and make everyone happy."
