21-year-old middle blocker Preslav Petkov will continue his career with Italian club Romeo (Sorrento), a newcomer to Serie A2. This will be the young national player's first season abroad, and his move to Italy marks a significant new step in his development.
Petkov is a product of Levski Sofia's youth system. Last season (2024/25), he played for Pirin (Razlog) in efbet Super Volley. Prior to that, he became Bulgarian champion with Levski Sofia in 2023/24. He also has another season with Pirin under his belt, demonstrating consistent growth in his game.
Standing at 208 cm, born in 2003, Preslav combines physicality and instinct, making him exceptionally effective at the net. Thanks to his excellent performance for the Bulgarian national team, he also distinguished himself in the Volleyball Nations League tournament in Quebec, where he finished as the fourth-best blocker – an achievement that underscores his rise on the international stage.

"I was following Italian Serie A2 last year – I know it's very unpredictable and exciting. Attack or block? I love both, but I think blocking is my strongest suit. If the score is 23:23 – block or attack, I definitely choose block. The feeling is just stronger," Petkov shared during his presentation.
The club welcomed him with words full of hope:
"Welcome, Preslav! May this be the beginning of a great journey that we will walk together!"
