The German women's national volleyball team achieved an extremely difficult and dramatic third victory in this year's edition of the Nations League. Under the guidance of Italian coach Giulio Bregoli, the team prevailed over France with a score of 3:2 (25:23, 17:25, 25:27, 30:28, 15:11) in their first match of Group 6. The match was played in front of a small circle of only about 300 spectators in the "Belgrade Arena" in the Serbian capital.
Character and drama after a comeback in the fourth set
After a convincing first set, Germany lost its rhythm and allowed France to take the initiative in the second and third sets. In the fourth, however, the "Bundesteam" showed strong character and managed to win it 30:28 after an incredibly tense battle. In the tie-break, the Germans dominated and secured the final 15:11.
