Bulgarian international Iva Dudova had her first training sessions as a volleyball player for the Turkish powerhouse Eczacıbaşı.
The Istanbul club showed the first footage of the 20-year-old Bulgarian with a ball in her new team, dedicating a special post to her on its official Instagram profile.
"Welcome home, Iva! First touches of the ball as a Tigress," Eczacıbaşı wrote alongside the footage of Dudova.
Thus, the Bulgarian opposite hitter has practically begun the new stage of her career in one of the biggest clubs not only in Turkey but also in European women's volleyball.
Before joining the training sessions, Dudova underwent the mandatory pre-season medical examinations. Eczacıbaşı announced that the Bulgarian player and setter Dilay Özdemir had undergone tests in Istanbul before starting work with the team.
Eczacıbaşı officially announced the signing of Iva Dudova back in May. At that time, club manager Bilun Yılmaz revealed that the Turkish powerhouse had been following the development of the Bulgarian volleyball player for a long time and saw serious potential in her.
For Dudova, this will be her first season in one of the strongest leagues in the world. The Bulgarian, born in 2006, is 198 centimeters tall and will play as an opposite hitter for Eczacıbaşı.
The beginning has been set, and the club itself chose a sufficiently eloquent message for her first steps in Istanbul – Iva is now one of the "Tigresses."
