Brazilian replaces another Brazilian at the helm of FIVB

A Brazilian will replace another in the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB). The body announced that it had received only one candidacy for the position of president. It was submitted by the Brazilian Fabio Azevedo (pictured above), the current Director-General of FIVB. He will replace the current president, also a Brazilian, Ary Graça, at the end of the electoral congress organized from November 15 to 17, 2024, in Portugal.

The current president, who is 81 years old, will not run again, leaving the position open for Fabio Azevedo, whom he hired in 2013 at the beginning of his first term. The two had already collaborated for more than a decade in the Brazilian Volleyball Federation.
