The Serbian men's national volleyball team started its participation in this year's edition of the Nations League with a victory. In the first match of Group C of the first week of the Seventh Nations League 2025, held in the Chinese city of Xi'an, Serbia defeated Turkey with a score of 3:1 (12:25, 25:22, 25:23, 25:23) after 116 minutes of play.
After a difficult start and a lost first set, the Serbian team, led by coach Gheorghe Crețu, recovered and demonstrated significantly better play. The Turks dominated early with a convincing 25:12, but the Serbian volleyball players showed character and will to win, taking the next three sets with a minimal but sufficient lead – 25:22, 25:23, and 25:23.
