Tomasz Fornal bids farewell to Jastrzębski Węgiel
Tomasz Fornal recently parted ways with Jastrzębski Węgiel after several successful seasons. On Wednesday, he was officially presented by the Turkish league club – Ziraat Bankası Ankara. The Polish outside hitter will play alongside stars like Nimir Abdel-Aziz.
6 seasons and an end
After several years, Tomasz Fornal's volleyball adventure in PlusLiga has come to an end. He began his elite career with Czarni Radom, but truly broke through at Jastrzębski Węgiel. He spent 6 seasons there and played a key role in the Silesian club's successes. With the team, he won 3 Polish championships, 2 Super Cups, and 1 Polish Cup. He also added 2 silver and 1 bronze medal in the Champions League. It's hard to imagine Jastrzębski Węgiel without Tomasz Fornal, but after the 2024/2025 season, an era has officially concluded.

A few months ago, the first signs emerged that Fornal might leave PlusLiga. He was already linked with one of the leading Turkish clubs, and now these speculations have been confirmed. The Olympic silver medalist from Paris has officially become a player for Ziraat Ankara, marking the beginning of a completely new stage in his volleyball career.

Ziraat Ankara is among the leading clubs in Turkey. Last season, they won the national championship and triumphed in the CEV Cup, defeating Asseco Resovia Rzeszów in the final.
