The Polish presence in the strongest European men's club tournament will no longer be only on the volleyball court. Polish fintech and investment company XTB becomes the general sponsor of the men's Champions League for 2027 and 2028.
The news was officially announced by the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) on September 8. The agreement is for two editions of the competition, and XTB receives the status of Title Sponsor, which means that the company's name will also be included in the official name of the tournament – CEV XTB Champions League Volley Men.
Thus, Poland, which for years has had a strong club presence in the Champions League, will now also be represented through the main sponsor of the competition. XTB was founded in 2004 in Poland, and since 2016 its shares have been traded on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. The company develops an online platform for investments and trading in various financial instruments.
"The involvement of an innovative brand like XTB is a strong confirmation of the growing international profile and commercial attractiveness of the CEV Champions League Volley. We are delighted to welcome our partner and are grateful for the trust it places in European volleyball," commented CEV President Rocco Sikiric.
The agreement provides for XTB's presence in the halls during matches, as well as joint digital initiatives and content featuring volleyball players.
The Polish club presence in the 2026/27 season is also significant – among the participants in the tournament are Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie, Bogdanka LUK Lublin, and Projekt Warszawa. Bulgaria is represented by Levski Sofia, who will start from the qualification rounds for the group stage.
The new agreement between CEV and XTB is further proof of the economic weight of Polish volleyball – this time Poland enters the Champions League not only with contenders for the trophy, but also with a company whose name the competition itself will bear.
