Alessandro Michieletto is in for EuroVolley 2026. One of Italy's biggest stars made it into the final squad of 14 volleyball players, selected by head coach Ferdinando De Giorgi for the European Championship.
The Italian Federation officially announced the squad two days before the 'Azzurri's' first match in the tournament. Michieletto's presence is among the most important news for Italy, after the outside hitter suffered an injury at the beginning of the year and went through a recovery period, missing half of the club season and the entire summer with the national team.

Italy begins its participation in EuroVolley 2026 on Thursday, September 10, at 9:05 PM against Sweden. The match will be played outdoors at 'Piazza del Plebiscito' in Naples.
The 'Azzurri' are hosts for their matches in the tournament, and if they reach the final phase, they will have the opportunity to pursue the European title entirely in front of their home crowd.
