Sofia Mayor Vasil Terziev and Bulgarian Volleyball Federation President Lyubomir Ganev visited the training session of the men's national team days before the start of the European Championship.
The two spoke with the volleyball players and the coaching staff, and Terziev did not remain merely a spectator. The Sofia mayor entered the court and played a few balls with the national team members.

"The European Championship is an extremely important event for Sofia. Many fans will come as guests, who will be able to enjoy top-quality volleyball and explore our beautiful capital. Once again, I congratulate our boys and wish them to win the title," Terziev stated to the official website of the BFV.
Federation President Lyubomir Ganev emphasized the importance of support from the Sofia Municipality and appealed to Bulgarian fans.
"The support of the Sofia Municipality and, first and foremost, of Mayor Terziev, is very important for us as a federation. Thanks to our work, to our excellent athletes, the heart of Sofia and all of Bulgaria will beat with volleyball in the coming days. We rely immensely on our wonderful fans who will fill 'Arena 8888'. We are all one team – of Bulgaria!" Ganev said.

Bulgaria is hosting Group "B" of EuroVolley 2026, and the matches will be played in "Arena 8888 Sofia". Gianlorenzo Blengini's national team begins its participation on Wednesday, September 9, at 7:00 PM against North Macedonia.
