The second day of the Asian Men's Volleyball Championship in Fukuoka offered three matches, with China, Australia, and Thailand recording straight-set victories.
China defeated India 3-0 (25:21, 28:26, 27:25), but the score does not fully reflect the difficulties faced by one of the tournament favorites. After the first set, the Indians put up strong resistance, and in the next two, they had opportunities to snatch at least one set. However, China was more precise in the decisive rallies and closed out the match in three sets.
One of the surprises of the day came from Thailand. The team gave Qatar no chance and won 3-0 (25:22, 25:19, 25:14). After a relatively contested first set, the Thais gradually established complete dominance, and in the third, the difference reached 11 points.
Australia also started their participation convincingly, defeating Bahrain 3-0 (25:20, 25:18, 25:21). The Australians controlled all three sets and took the maximum three points.
A day earlier, Iran, Republic of Korea, and host Japan started with victories. Iran overcame New Zealand 3-0, Republic of Korea dealt with Chinese Taipei 3-1, and Japan defeated Oman 3-1.
The Asian Championship has particularly high stakes – the champion receives a direct quota for the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028.
