Lokomotiv Avia's volleyball player Ivan Tasev will join the Hungarian club Debreceni Egyetemi Atlétikai Club (DEAC) for the 2025/2026 season, volleyweek.bg has learned.
🏐 Ivan Tasev's career
Ivan Tasev is an outside hitter, 197 cm tall, with an impressive jump reach of 350 cm in attack and 330 cm in block. He is the son of former national team player and Olympian Ivan Tasev (born in 1967), who participated in the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008 and was a European youth champion at the 1986 championship in Pazardzhik.
Young Tasev's club career includes:
2020/2021 – 2021/2022: Beroe 2016 (Bulgaria)
2022/2023 – 2023/2024: Marek Union-Ivkoni (Bulgaria)
2024/2025: Lokomotiv Avia (Bulgaria)
🏆 DEAC's performance in the 2024/2025 season
DEAC's men's team finished 5th in the Hungarian Extraliga, with 13 wins and 9 losses, and a set ratio of 43:38. In the Hungarian Cup tournament, they were eliminated in an early stage after a 0:3 loss to Pénzügyőr SE.
🇧🇬 Bulgarian presence in the Hungarian Extraliga
In the 2024/2025 season, another Bulgarian volleyball player, setter Borislav Nikolov, played for Vegyész RC Kazincbarcika. The club has a rich history, including participation in the CEV Challenge Cup in the 2016/2017 season. After one season with the team, Nikolov left the club.
