The Serbian women's national volleyball team departed for the first Volleyball Nations League (VNL) tournament in Ottawa, Canada, without their head coach Zoran Terzic and without one of their biggest weapons - the versatile Tijana Boskovic. This means Branko Kovacevic will take on the role of first coach, with Stevan Ljubicic as his second coach.
Historical Match Before Departure
Days before their departure, the "eagles" played an extremely competitive match in Belgrade against Russia, which ended in a dramatic 2:3 defeat for the hosts. This is the Russian team's first appearance since their exclusion from the volleyball movement due to the war in Ukraine. Despite this performance, the emotions and adrenaline from this match demonstrated that even without the star Boskovic, who watched the match from the stands, Serbia has enough quality and depth in its squad.
