Bulgaria finished with a loss at the International President's Cup Tournament in Koszalin, Poland, after the girls of the new coach Antonina Zetova bowed to Sweden with a 2:3 (25:23, 26:28, 20:25, 25:20, 11:15). Led by former Bulgaria coach Lorenzo Micelli and the ubiquitous Isabelle Haak, "Tre Kronor" managed to stop the momentum of the "lionesses," defeating them in two hours and 4 minutes. Our team could have taken a 2:0 lead, as they were ahead 22:20 in the second set, but lost it 26:28, competing to make service errors throughout the game. Nevertheless, the Bulgarians managed to get back into the match after being 1:2 sets down and starting poorly in the fourth set. The entry of Merelin Nikolova and the good play of Alex Milanova managed to tip the scales in our favor.

This was also helped by Borislava Saykova's excellent entry through the middle, who first provided a set point, and then finished the set with an ace.
Our team started the tie-break well, even leading initially, but after 5:5, Haak came alive, alternating powerful attacks with skillful tips that neutralized our defense. Our national players managed to get within a point after a successful attack by Saykova through the middle, 10:11, but again our tormentor Haak took matters into her own hands, with two successful attacks increasing the score to 11:13. This was followed by a technical tip from Sweden's setter, which led to match point, again converted by Haak from a serve.
The most effective Bulgarian players were Mikaela Stoyanova and Alexandra Milanova, both with 18 points.
Meanwhile, it became clear that libero Galina Karabasheva, who was injured in the women's national team's 2:3 loss to France, will be absent from training for 10 days.

Thus, Bulgaria finished with three losses - 1:3 against Poland, 2:3 against France, and 2:3 against Sweden, placing them in last position in the tournament.
