The Bulgarian men's national volleyball team started its participation in this year's edition of the Nations League with a defeat. The team led by Gianlorenzo Blengini lost to the Olympic champions France with0:3 (21:25, 24:26, 14:25)in their first match of Group 1, played in Antalya (Turkey).
Outside hitters Vladimir Garkov and Samuil Valchinov, as well as middle blocker Boris Nachev, recorded their first official appearance as part of the men's national team. Only in the second game did our team come within a point of winning it, but the experience of the "Roosters" did not allow a comeback to be made. In the third set, France clearly showed who was "boss" and closed the set at 14. The best performer for the Bulgarians was setter Simeon Nikolov, who finished with seven points, including 2 from serve and 2 from block!
Our next match is on May 24 (Friday), against Canada at 2:00 PM Bulgarian time.
